Stefan Hallerstede graduated from Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) in 2008 with a Master in business administration (Diplom-Kaufmann). He specialized in information systems, logistics, psychology and management. During his studies, he gained practical experiences at internships with Siemens SEA, Atlanta, GA and adidas Global IT, Germany while not neglecting support for regional collaboration platforms. In his spare time, he is working as an IT Consultant for several companies, such as adidas.

Dissertation Topic

IT-based open innovation is a popular means to integrate external innovators into the innovation process of organizations. Combining extant research in innovation management and IS management, this dissertation aims at integrating open innovation and application lifecycle management (ALM) to present an integrated understanding of the design and management of the lifecycle of tools for IT-based open innovation. Therefore, the dissertation draws on multiple in-depth explorative case studies.
