Hagen Habicht graduated in business administration/intercultural management from the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena. His specializations were marketing, international management, and intercultural business communication. During his studies he spent a term at Université Paris XII. Subsequent to his studies, he has been research assistant at the chair for Service Economics at the University of Erfurt, and assistant to the dean of TUM Business School for two years. Since 2005 he is research assistant at the institute for Information, Organization and Management (Prof. Reichwald) at TU Munich.
