Dr. Dina Barbian received her PhD in Ecological Economics from the University of Kaiserslautern in 2000. She studied industrial engineering and management at the Universities Kaiserslautern and Paderborn.

After her university education she worked in a medium-sized company in the field of ecological process technology in Saarbrücken. Dr. Barbian is working since 1998 as research assistant at the Chair for Information Systems I (former head of department: Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Peter Mertens) at the Friedrich-Alexander-University (FAU) Erlangen-Nuremberg.

Together with Peter Mertens actually she is working in different fields of information systems, e.g. forecasting models, information systems for supervisory boards, and public accounts for citizens.
