The Development of an IT-based Innovation Community - a Case Study

Innovation Communities are a common mean to conduct Open Innovation. There is some knowledge on how to run Innovation Communities, but knowledge on the development processes of ICs is scarce.

This thesis shall investigate the development activities/ processes/ methods for a (defined) Innovation Community which is run by an intermediary and research the question:

  • What has be done during the conceptionalization and development of the IC?

The empirical basis are (present) qualitative, explorative and semi-structured interviews that shall be analyzed.

Underlying theories can (but must not) include:

  • Software development methods
  • Software development models
  • Software development processes
