Contents and objectives
"The course intends to give the participants a thorough understanding of the IT and IT-enabled services industry in India. We shall explore the growth of the industry from the late 1980s until now This course will cover the following topics:
- Birth and growth of IT clusters in India
- Cooperation between IT companies in India
- Outsourcing & offshoring: advantages and disadvantages
- Outsourcing & offshoring: inherent risks and opportunities
- Indian IT: moving up the value chain
- Global delivery models used in this industry
- Global outlook for outsourcing and offshoring
- Current challenges faced by the industry in India
The course will also include at least 2 guest lecturers from managers of leading Indian IT companies Additionally the course will cover specific aspects of the Indian culture. This is to ensure that students are in a position to not only understand Indian culture but also feel comfortable dealing with Indian companies in the future.
