This thesis aims to answet the main question: How is complexity reduced on the co-creative platform GitHub for code developers?
Sub-questions might include:
What are the mechanisms (example: reuse of code) that are applied to support the users throughout their journey on the platform? How are the users supported in their several tasks such as service discovery, design, development, evaluation, implemenation, coordination with other co-developers etc? How is complexity managed on the platform through modularity and description?
Granting sustainable and economic mobility to people and companies in the peripheral regions of Germany that are affected by demographic change is one of the greater challenges for German transport policy. The mobility of people in these regions is a prerequisite for increasing the future attractiveness of employment, ensure supply and enhance quality of life. Modern approaches such as sharing services, crowdsourcing and digital data sources could serve as possible means to tackle these challenges.

The mobility of people in these often rural regions is a prerequisite for maintaining or increasing the future attractiveness of employment, for ensuring supplies and enhancing the quality of life. Modern approaches such as sharing services, crowdsourcing and digital data sources could serve as possible means to tackle these challenges.
During the interactions between solution providers and users, communication is not limited to the operations that take place. The participants also exchange messages about their personal relationship. Interaction examples from a business context like (doctor - patient) and (shop assistant - buyer) show the diversity of such relationships. When customers are invited to participate in open innovation, such messages are sent as well. Students are invited to write a master thesis on the role that innovation tools play in this context.
Various authors have listed different collaborative activities in the context of open innovation. These activities can be interpreted as problem solving heuristics. Students working on this topics are expected to analyse and categorize such activities on the basis of current literature on heuristic problem solving such as the “Adaptive Toolbox” proposed by Gigerenzer and others. Data can be collected either by observation in open labs like JOSEPHS, by tracing the usage of innovation tools, or in particular innovation settings that students suggest on their own.

Service Design and Service Prototyping methods and tools are currently highly discussed in innovation/service research and practice since they offer great possibilities to interactively and interdisciplinary create, develop and test concepts for new services. Still, these tools usually refer to a rather closed workshop setting where participants have to be screened, selected and invited to work with the service developer team.
